Finding accommodation in Pakistan

The expat population are mostly found in Karachi and Islamabad. Karachi is a sprawling, bustling and busy metropolis. It is the largest city in Pakistan, with rapidly growing commercial industries. Pakistan’s landscape is blessed with picturesque mountains, green valleys, snow capped peaks and lakes; on the other end of the spectrum, the more metropolitan cities are alive. This is one country expats would have to take a much closer look other than the papers. If your moving to this part of the world, have a look at some information we’ve compiled.

Types of accommodation in Pakistan

Defence Housing Authority is by far the safest and most profitable of all, keep yourself focused on DHA Lahore and DHA Karachi and newer developments in other cities as well. Your investment will remain secured even if you do not visit it for years. It is the biggest real estate society of Pakistan and holds the maximum share of investment. If you have invested in DHA , you can rest assure that your money is safe and it will multiply in years to come. DHA also provides you with every kind of investment opportunity, starting from small residential plots of 5 Marla up to 2 Kanals and commercial plots of various sizes for investors with deep pockets.

Bahria Town is the second best choice when it comes to investment in Pakistan. Although It is more volatile and therefore a bit more risky than DHA but it is the only society i would recommend for Expats other than DHA. In order to get maximum returns from your investment in Bahria Town , you must at all times be in touch with the market and I have personally found that short term and mid term trading is much more effective when it comes to Bahria Town. Bahria Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad offer a variety of investment opportunities for all kind of investors.

Gwadar Sangar Housing Society A lot of our Expats want to invest in Gwadar and one of the most difficult thing is to find a safe investment to put your money in. It is my strong recommendation that if you are an Expat stay away from private land developers for now and avoid buying open land. Sangar is ideal for investment and most safe in my opinion. In addition we will only recommend that you invest a maximum of 15 to 20% of your portfolio in Gwadar.

How to find an accommodation in Pakistan

If you are planning to relocate to Pakistan and need assistance to find a home, helpxpat.com enables you to find the most appropriate home for the employee for their budget and lifestyle and to negotiate the best possible lease terms – saving the client and the employee time, financial liability and stress.

Karachi and Islamabad are the hotspot for tourists who look for modern amenities such as shopping malls, fancy restaurants and luxury hotels. A melting pot of cultures, there is an international air in Karachi that embraces more liberal attitudes compared to the rest of the country.

In contrast with Karachi, Islamabad’s towering feature is the mountain range surrounding the city. Expats will see that this city is much greener, cleaner and calmer compared. Government buildings and offices are situated here, most of the residents are diplomats or public employees. Although the skyline of Islamabad is made up mostly of jagged mountain edges, the city is urban and very metropolitan with commercial and industrial facilities.

There is a good range of rental prices in Pakistan from inexpensive $100 per month 1 bedroom apartments to pricy $2,000 per month luxury units. It is advisable to consult with real estate agencies in securing an rental, as this would facilitate the search and the legalities of tenancy contracts

Choosing a right school in Pakistan

Education in Pakistan is compulsory and free for children between the ages of five and 16 years old. The education system in Pakistan is usually divided into six levels: preschool, primary, middle, high, intermediate and university

The country suffers from a high illiteracy rate and gender disparity, and expats moving to Pakistan are likely to find that public education is not even an option for expat kids.

English and Urdu are often the language of instruction, and many schools follow a curriculum inspired by the British system, with strong religious influences. Therefore, expat parents usually send their children to one of Pakistan's private or international schools.

There are a number of private and international schools in Pakistan following various curricula. Most of these schools are located in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi. Many of the private schools are prestigious boarding schools. School fees for both private and international schools are very expensive.
